Great Day!

Alison has been pretty fussy but she still has her moments of being happy and there I am with my camera ready to capture it!
Alison loves to read. This is her soft book she has an easier time turning the pages and has fun cuddling with her good book.
what a pretty little girl

A Package? For Me? Yea!

Today we recieved a very special package in the mail! Great Grandma Carolyn and Great Grandpa Frank sent us a care package!
What is this?

I like these!

Mommy got two figurines of great grandma's that she really liked along with a very nice note!
Thank you grandma! She also sent me a water bottle, I guess she noticed I didn't have one, lol. Chris actually bought me one at Target and it looked good until I put water in it, yea it leaked... So thank you for the water bottle too!

Lucy enjoyed the care packahe too!

Alison was very interested in the buble wrap, mommy showed her how it can make noise.

Alison is still teething. you can see her bottom two teeth in this picture. Her upper gum has a purple-ish bruise like bit that makes me think we will be having an upper tooth soon!

Alison is one smart baby! She knows that colors look different but she wanted to find out if they tasted different!

nope taste the same!

I'm having a pretty good day

"Its all OK"

8 Months Old!

Alison is 8 months old today! I can't believe it. For her 8 month birthday she got something very special! A second tooth! right next to the first one!

We went to the doctor's office today. Alison started crying the moment she realized where we were. The last three times we have been there she has gotten a series of shots. I am pretty sure she thought she was going to get another shot today. (Luckily she didn't).

I explained Alison's condition to the nurse and we got some medicine, and no it wasn't oral medicine.... She also recomended that I get Alison some prune juice and some dry apricots to boil and then turn into a mash for her. Alison doesn't care much for apricots and she didn't care much for the way the medicine had to be administered but she was soon back in working order and was feeling much better.

Alison calm moment playing with her teether.

This was not an uncommon face for Alison today. She is teething quite a bit and after having to go to the doctor's office, take medicine and eat fruit she didn't really seem to enjoy I can't really blame her for having a bad day.

Well, happy eight months Ali-Gator! Mommy loves you so much and I am so glad that 8 months ago you came into our lives.

Oh No...

I didn’t take any pictures of Alison today. She isn’t feeling too well between teething and being constipated so I didn't want to irritate her by flashing a camera in her face. I won’t go into details but it’s been longer than I am happy with since I changed a BM diaper. I called the doctor’s office and made an appointment. We should be going in tomorrow morning at 8am. I am glad they were able to get us in so quickly.

I gave Alison some apple juice. Hopefully that will help her and the doctor’s appointment won’t be necessary.

Pray for Alison!

Chris' Big Day

Today I got a good shot of Alison smiling AND you can see her little tooth! Chris also got a package in the mail today. Its his everything present: birthday, Valentines, anniversary, ect... don't worry though he won't be getting nothing on thos holidays but this is his big gift! He has been wanting to build a super computer for a very long time. I have been making him wait because we had other things that needed to be done first, like my big present for the year, paying off my car loan!

click on the image and you just might see a tooth!

I decided that since it was a present I couldn't not wrap it! Chris was really surprised and I think happy to see that I tried to make getting his dream computer a special occasion.

Taking ti downstairs to open it up. He was rally excited to get started!

Working on the computer. He took over my dining room table, I told him he can use it for a week than he has to move it up to the office.
One more picture of Alison just because she is so cute!

FIRST TOOTH!

I had no idea how happy I would be at Alison getting a tooth. Let me tell you I was happy. Its just the cutest little thing poking out of her gums! I thought I would miss her gummy smile but this new 'getting some teeth' smile is pretty great.
It is surprisingly hard to get a picture of a tooth, here is the only one I managed to get! You can see it on the bottom gum, barely visible, it just broke free today!

Alison making a funny face. I put oil on her face and it got in her hair, so I gave her a little baby mohawk, poor Alison.

trying to get a good shot of her tooth

Happy baby!

When I found out that she had a tooth, we've been looking for one for awhile now, I started telling her I was so proud of ehr and making all these noises. I don't think Alison was sure what was going on but she liked it. I am proud of little Alison, she has a lot more teeth to get through. Hopefully it won't be too painful. Bless her little heart!
Chris mowed the lawn today, what a great dad! Working hard to make our house look pretty.

Costco Day!

Alison ready to go to Costco with mommy and daddy

Chris likes to go to Costco every Sunday. He really likes shopping there and enjoys having a schedule that stays the same. Alison likes doing anything as long as its with mom and dad.
Chris is the main shopper at Costco I just kind of follow in his wake and occasionally throw something into the cart.
Alison eating her finger. I am just glad she doesn't suck her thumb,
one habit we don't have to worry about breaking.
Alison back in the car ready to go home, still holding tight to her monkey.
She managed to kick one of her shoes off. Luckily I saw it and picked it up.
I think its almost time to get Alison a new pair of shoes. She just keeps growing!

Getting Rid of the Guestbed

I explained yesterday that we were giving our guestbed away and I mentioned that we were thinking about turning the guest bedroom into an office. Allow me to go into more detail. If you haven't noticed from the blog, Alison and I spend A LOT of time in the family room, much more time in there than I thought we would. It really was a blessing that God put that twinkle of an idea in my mind.

Anyways, I thought the family room would be good as a family room/office/craft space. Since we have been using the family room, we have both decided that having sewing and craft stuff out as well as computer stuff out in an area that Alison will be spending a lot of playtime in, isnt the best idea (and also it just looks too crowded in there!). So we are making the family room just a family room and turning the guest bedroom into an office craft area. We do plan on getting a pull out couch for company though, so don't worry anyone you will still have a nice place to sleep!

Our friends Monica and Ben came over, beer in tow, with their two kids. I made a late breakfast of pancakes, turky bacon and eggs so no one would be working on an empty stomach! And the boys got to work as Monica and I watched the kids. The boys got everything moved pretty fast and before we knew it we were saying goodbye to our friends and also the first bed that Chris and I ever bought.

I didn't take any pictures, things were too busy, while they were here but later I did take some pictures of Alison and I and managed to talk Chris into taking one too!

Alison is looking at daddy who is making funny faces at her trying to get her to smile

He is doing a good job

Daddy took one of mommy and Alison

Fantastic Friday

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this on my blog before but Boompa and I treat Friday like its a holiday. Its fun and when we remember we call each other and sing the Friday song. Alison enjoys listening to Boompa and mommy sing the Friday song.

Alison playing with her nesting blocks. She likes all the different pictures on them.
(please excuse the laundry thats in the background, I tend to fold clothes wherever Alison seem to be the happiest)

She likes how they taste too!

Trying out a bigger one

Of course what baby doesn't enjoy a good spatula?

"Hi!"

We played and then played some more when daddy got home. After Alison went to bed Daddy and I switched the matress on our bed for the one in the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom mattress and boxsprings are taller and the matress is firmer but still really comfortable. I mentioned to Monica that we were thinking about turning the guest bedroom into an office and she offered to buy the bed, they are going to pick it up tomorrow.

Of course since we were planning on donating the bed we didn't feel right charging them anything but they didn't feel right just taking it so Chris charged them a six pack of beer so the men folk could have some refreshment while they moved the bed out to their waiting van. Really they are doing us a big favor, I am not that great at moving stuff up and down the stairs I bet having another strong tall man to help him is preferable to Chris than having his short not as strong wife help him, and I don't drink beer either (yuck).

Tomorrow should be fun!

Slow Day

The only thing really remarkable today was eating the tomato sauce I made yesterday. It was really good and very hearty. I used some of the fresh garlic on the french bread too, I wish I would have taken a picture since its the first itme I've ever made tomato sauce but I was too excited to eat it to take a picture. I am for sure going to make it again. Chris really liked the tomato sauce too.

Daddy got home in time to help put Alison to bed. Its always kind of a bummer when Chris has to stay at work late and misses out on spending time with Alison. But Alison and I sure are proud of how good a Marine he is.

A Walk to the Store

Alison in her stroller as we set out for our walk.

Today was such a pretty day I decided that Alison and I would walk to the grocerie store. One thing I like about my new phone is that I am able to stream music from it so Alison and I got to listen to music on our way. Alison really likes going on walks, there is so much to look at!

Looking around in the grocerie store.

I wanted to make some homemade tomato sauce so we only needed to get a few items. Daddy had already bought the tomatoes from Costco we just needed to get things like fresh basil, bay leaves, and garlic. We also got a big fresh loaf of french bread.

Alison loves shopping

We stopped by some pretty flowers on the way home so I could take Alison's picture with them.

Once we got home I started working on the tomato sauce. We bought as much organic product as we could find so hopefully the homemade sauce not only taste better is better for you.

Here ar all the ingredients ready to go! I like to get everything ready before I start cooking. The tomatoes had to be peeled and de-seeded, the basil had to be cut up as well as the garlic and onion.
It took 4 hours to cook and when it was done I stored it and put it in the fridge so we can have it for dinner tomorrow.

Alison played in the family room while mommy cooked
She seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Is this a Hat or a Basket?

Alison and I are spending a lot of time in the family room. Much more time in there then I thought we would. I am so glad I switched the dining room and the 'sitting room' the old sitting room new dining room is smaller and since its the first thing you see when you walk in I want it to be nice, clean and pretty. And the family room is tucked away so its ok if there are toys all over the floor!

Alison loves playing in the family room!

"What are we going to do next mommy?"

Is this a hat or a basket?
Its actually the basket for her plush fruit.
It has a Velcro handle and is nice and soft just like the fruit it holds.

I love how Alison is getting interested in toys. We pick up different things and say what they are, count things, point out colors and of course we sing a lot. Alison loves listening to mommy sing (even if I'm not very good Alison makes me feel like super star). I can't wait till she starts singing along!
