Aquarium

Emily and I made a big Brunch today and it looked so nice I had to take a picture!
We had fruit, rolls, bacon, eggs and pancakes!
Chris had to go to his haircut but we saved some for him!

Alison really enjoyed the fruit and bacon!

After brunch, we drove out to the San Diego Birch Aquarium
We took Alison to an aquarium in Hawaii but she was a bit too young to fully enjoy it, this time she was really excited to see all the fish and wanted to stand and watch at each of the tanks.
Chris decided to stay home and have some rare quiet time.

Auntie Em hold Alison up for a better look!

Inside one of the Jelly Fish aquariums, the had a light that changed colors making the fish light up as red, green and of course blue!
A very small jelly fish in another tank.

Alison checking out the tiny jelly fish

Big Eels, Alison found these too scary to get very close to their tank!

Alison really enjoyed the giant tank that was filled with lots of fish and even a few sharks!

We spent quite some time at this beautiful tank.

Not a very good picture but these are shark eggs!
It was neat because you could see the little baby sharks inside the eggs wiggling around!

Outside checking out the tide pools

Alison walking around checking things out.
I offered to take a picture of a couple and they offered to take a picture of us in return!
Here we all are, having a great time at the aquarium.

After all that walking at the aquarium we decided to get something to eat.
I have always wanted to check out the Hotel del Coronado , a famous hotel in San Diego.
We went to one of the restaurants and got some really delicious burgers and french fries at the hotel's Babcock & Story bar. They had a few other places to eat including seating outside but it was just too chilly to enjoy it. fun fact: you can park in the $16 parking lot for free if you validate your parking by buying something at the hotel!

Alison and Auntie Em playing as we waited for our food.

Mommy had a great time sharing a day with some of her favorite people.

Aunte Em comes to visit!

My long time friend Emily came down from LA to see us and Baba. Emily has been my friend since the 3rd grade and so is lovely called Auntie Em'.
We decided to spend the day in Old Town. Alison and Auntie Em found a nice plot of green grass to run around!

Wheee!!

There were a lot of giggles

We walked to a Mexican restaurant while and passed some horses and a buggy!
We all stopped to admire the big horses.
Eating together

Well some of us played more than they ate ;)

We walked around the shops and Baba found a cold glass bottle of coke.

Alison found a rainbow sprinkle cookie!

The cookie lasted a really long time, and Alison sure enjoyed having a special treat on her special day out with the ladies.
Alison, still holding her cookie, sitting on a rock in Old Town that commemorates the first spot where an American flag was flown in Southern California. There was a nice little plaque on the rock but I forgot to take a picture!

Reading with Baba

Alison has asked Baba to read her all her books that are out (we have already packed a few away) and Baba is more than happy to snuggle Alison and read her all the books she wants!

Baba's First Day in San Diego!

We are so excited to have Baba here to visit for awhile! Alison was really excited to wake up this morning and find Baba! She flew in late last night so Alison was already in bed.
Alison wanted to spend some alone time with Baba

Alison was shaking her bells and singing 'Jingle Bells' for Baba!
Alison was so excited to have Baba at our house that she didn't wonder far from her and would every now and then touch her saying "Baba!" as if she was making sure she was really there.

Seaport Village

Hi Everyone! Yea! New blog post! I have been resting and taking things pretty easy lately but I am starting to feel so much better! My morning sickness is no where near as bad as it was with Alison but it was still not that great. Mainly I was REALLY tired.

Normally we try and go out for a family activity every weekend, be it the park or just going out to eat, just to bond a little and have together time. This weekend Seaport Village was having a festival with street performers and even though the weather was a little cold and really windy I was sick of being inside and wanted to go anyways!

Fire Hula Hoop!

This poor guy was a volunteer and the performer jumped on his back and managed to crawl around him and end up on his shoulders, it was pretty funny.

Once up on his shoulders, juggling with fire!

One of the pretty walkways in Seaport Village. It's such a charming shopping area with little places to sit and enjoy the view. You can watch boats go by and let your kids play on the grassy areas. Although today we were focused on getting inside the restaurant since it was so windy and sprinkling a little!

Alison ate like a champ! She ate all her mac and cheese and half the little bowl of ice cream she got for dessert! Chris and I really love this place, Harbor House, the first time we ate here was before Alison was born and Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Frank were visiting. They have amazing oysters which being pregnant I was not able to partake! I did however get a nice bowl of crab bisque and watched the hubs have an oyster and a stack of ahi tuna. Love living by the ocean!

Alison did really well with her fork. We are trying to figure out if she is left or right handed. She seems to color mostly with her left hand but seems to be more comfortable eating with her right!

School Day with Daddy!

Mommy missed last Friday of playgroup at the San Diego Waldorf School. I was really bummed about that but I had had some serious morning sickness starting at 1am and lasting till 7am and was just not up to it. This week daddy took off from work to get some things done around the house and was able to take Alison! I was so excited to see them going to school together, I know everyone must think this of their own family but I have the cutest little family in the world!
Alison with a book for the road!

"Oh boy!"

"Bye Mommy!"

Chris said that Alison was so excited about him being at playgroup with her that she spent the whole time playing with him! She sure loves her daddy!

Walk to Jamba Juice!

Mommy had a Jamba Juice craving and since its not too far from our house we decided it would be fun to load Alison up in her stroller, plop a hat on her cute little head and walk there!

Let's Go!
With animal crackers and a bottle of water Alison is ready for the long walk!

Mommy and Alison got a Veggie-Fruit Smoothie Apple's n' Greens.
It had spinach and kale and other goodness in it and tasted good too!

Daddy got a coffee-chocolate and peanut butter smoothie :)
I took a tiny sip and it was really yummy.

Back home, Chris has been putting new grass seeds down and fertilizer to help perk up our grass.
We have some yard people coming over to spruce up our yard and they will be maintaining it twice a month until we get the house sold. Moving and getting the house ready is a lot of work, especially when you add a pregnancy and a cute but very active two year old to the mix!
