Let's Play!

I didn't have much to clean up today, my friend Monica who was over with her family for dinner last nigth had rinsed off all my dishes for me so I could play with the kids and it made clean up so easy! I got to enjoy some good old play time with Alison.

Here are some of the things she did today:

Looked at the pictures in her book (she loves books)

Tasted the words in her book

Liked the way the book tasted

Wanted to taste her finger

Liked that too

was silly

Read some more

Thought about it

And, as alway, was just too darn cute! this is my favortie picture from today.

Sunday Funday

Alison and I went to church this morning but we didn't quite make it through the service and mommy decided that even though she was looking forward to the baby shower, she probably wouldn't enjoy it knowing Alison would rather be home sleeping (fussy baby = no fun). Chris stayed home and caught up on some work stuff.

Alison in her car seat packed with the baby shower gifts. I got some nice fluffy hooded baby bath towels. They were blue with fish on them. All the ladies being honored at the shower were having boys.

After we got home Alison and I both took a much needed nap, she wore me out! Chris went to his haircut and then around 3 our friends Ben and Monica along with their two kids came over. I didn't take too many pictures (my camera died) but I did snap a few of Alison with their little girl. Alison was very interested in her and kept gently grabbing her arm and hand. I guess babies just like to hold hands with each other! Alison loved to hold hands with Grady too.

They were very interested in each other!

We had a nice dinner together. Our friends hadn't been to our house in a long time and they liked how I had rearranged my downstairs. I like it too, it gives Alison and I more room to play!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Chris spent some time in Rhode Island this week and today he came home! Alison and I were both excited to have him home. Emily went back to LA this morning. She had to be at her work at noon. I really enjoy having Emily over. She is going to try and come to visit again next time Chris goes out of town.

Friday

Emily and I stayed at home today. It was a really hot day, even with the AC on it was a bit warm. We played with Alison, drank tea and I showed Emily how to embroider. I have found that only a few people want to actually embroider or do any kind of sewing/needle-work, oddly enough the people who enjoy these activities have all been from my home town. I have known Emily since the 3rd grade. My sister Sarah also enjoys needlework.

Emily drinking tea. I drink a lot of tea about a pot a day. I like hot tea, it can be the middle of sumemr and I still enjoy my pot of tea.

Alison trying to eat her bunny, it smells like chocolate.

Alison about to go to bed, she was really happy. This face says 'you just think I'm going to sleep!'

Apples and Oranges

Alison, Emily and I went to Ikea today. We wanted to get out of the house and I wanted to look at some desk for Chris. Right now all his computer stuff is on the floor. It would be nice for him to have a little place thats just for him and his stuff.

(I know I really need to get a real shopping cart cover, but for now blankets and her changing pad work!)

In the children's section there was some plush fruit and vegetables and they were much cheaper than the plastic ones we were planning on getting. I read that having toy healthy food makes them more fun and children are more likely to enjoy eating the real thing or at least be willing to give them a shot. I don't know how true that is but it sounds like a sound theory and I guess most importantly she seems to like them!

Two baskets with fruit and vegetables and a horse to feed them to!

Its been a great day and having Emily over os a lot of fun. I wonder what we will get up to tomorrow!

Early Morning

We had a super early start this morning! We left the house at 4:30 in order to get Chris to the airport on time. I will say one of us was happy to eb awake and it wasn't Chris or I.
Good Morning!

She was happy to be up with mommy and daddy

Alison and I dropped Chris off and went back home and to bed! Later my good friend Emily came over! She is staying with Alison and I for a few days, leaving on Saturday. She lives up in LA and really likes it. Its nice having her close enough to come visit.

Bye-Bye Daddy!

Recovery

Yesterdays shots made both of us not feel so hot. Alison was extra cranky and my arms were a bit sore and I was pretty tired.

I did make Alison some carrot baby food! It is the first time I made her a vegetable homemade baby food. I steamed some organic baby carrots, put them in my baby food processor and added some milk! Alison wasn't too thrilled with them, but she didn't hate them either! First time eating carrots.

"hi"

Alison grabbing the spoon

Daddy said he wouldn't like milk mixed with carrots either!

Chris prepared for another work trip this time to Rhode Island. Alison helped

"can I go daddy?"

We went to our good friends house for a cook out. She has a three year old son who is a cutie and a bit mischievous. I complained that I forgot to take pictures when we were about to leave and took a quick one of our hostess but when I loaded the pictures onto my computer, well it would appear that a little boy got my camera out of my diaper bag and took some pictues! I laughed so hard when I figured out what must have happened! Here are a few as well as the one I took.
